Finch Self-Care App

Two years ago, my daughter introduced me to the Finch Self-Care App. It's an app that actually makes self care fun, because while you're caring for your pet (birb...yes, birb, not bird; it looks a bit like a penguin, but is actually supposed to be a finch), you're actually caring for yourself.

This is how we start the day. We have to complete a few tasks, before the birb can begin her/his adventure for the day.

While the birb is adventuring, you can complete more goals, to bring the birb home faster. There are also quests to complete. The friends tree is where you can visit your birb friends, send them good vibes or gifts. The shop is where you can go to buy clothing, or items to decorate your birb's home. You earn "stones" to pay for these things, by completing goals.

Yes, I fairly recently celebrated 700 days of using the app! Next week will be my birb's second "hatch day" celebration!

The app is useful for anyone who may be suffering from depression (it gives you a little spark, to complete even the simplest tasks, like brushing you teeth, getting out of bed, making the bed, stepping outside your home). It can also be useful for someone who struggles with ADHD...maybe. It helps you have a list of daily tasks to accomplish.

It can also serve as a mood tracker. One thing I have found most useful and beneficial is to record daily at least one thing I am grateful for.

I use it, too, to remind me to have my daily devotional and prayer time. I also use it to track how many glasses of water I drink each day.

If you download it onto your phone, let me know, and maybe I can add you to me friends tree.
