Yolen, Jane

 

Jane Yolen is another of my favorite authors. She is the author of more than 400 books for children and adults, as well as an esteemed poet and essayist.

Owl Moon is her most well-known book, and is one of our favorites. It was the 1988 Caldecott Award Winner. One of the activities we did when we read this book was dissect owl pellets. That was a fascinating experience, in its own way. 

There are a couple other books I'll have to try hunting down: Bird Watch, and Wild Wings.

Mrs. Yolen has written books for teens and adults, as well, some of which I'll have to see if I can find.
