Our Lives
Our Lives
The days of our lives are like a mountain stream:
When our lives first start,
They’re like a gurgling creek
Just playing along the carefree way;
But as we get older,
The days get swifter and wilder
Like a roaring mountain stream;
Then suddenly we come to a waterfall,
Some are larger than others, some hardly have one;
Then they grow slightly quieter
As the stream gets wider and wider,
Until they’re only as rapids in a peaceful river
Then our river of life joins with another
Making up only one, and we journey on;
And soon our days are smooth but swift
Like the grand ol’ Mississippi River
Then we empty into
The vast Ocean of Eternity.

Another great poem. I might share one of my poems tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteVery well written. Amazing that you had that wisdom as a teen.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!

Well done. I sometimes participate in NaNo Camp - often fail, but the participation always delivers something. I think typing up old treasures is an excellent choice.
