McCloskey, Robert
I think one of the most popular children's author is probably Robert McCloskey. We certainly enjoyed each book we read of his. I'm thankful to have this collection of his stories in a large book format. Which of these stories is your favorite?
We enjoyed the ducklings marching down the sidewalk and crossing busy streets with the help of the policemen.
And with Lentil it was fun to play the harmonica in the bathtub to hear the acoustics, and making lemonade after tasting how sour lemon juice is.
We enjoyed Blueberries for Sal, tremendously, too. It was fun to have tiny tin pails to drop blueberries into and hear them go, Ker-plink, ker-plank, ker-plunk. 😁 It was especially enjoyable when we made blueberry muffins, or blueberry cobbler! Lemonade
Ingredients:
3 c. cold water
1 c fresh lemon juice (4-6 lemons)
1/2 c sugar
Preparation:
Squeeze the lemons and place the juice in a large pitcher. Add cold water and the sugar. Stir and chill for at least 30 minutes. Stir again before serving.
Have some lemonade while you read these fun stories to a special child in your life.
I remember reading Make Way for Ducklings.
