Katy and the Big Snow

 

Ah, another favorite children's picture book! Katy and the Big Snow is another favorite, isn't it?  

If it's been awhile since you last read it, Katy is a snow plow. She has to plow out a whole town which was buried in snow. I imagine some places around the country this past winter were thankful for their own "Katies." 

Some fun learning activities you could have with this book include map skills, the literary device personification, and weather patterns. This is another book used in the Five in a Row curriculum.
