#AtoZChallenge 2024 letter F

(I realize the schedule for this challenge is to blog Monday through Saturday, but I am choosing to blog Sunday through Friday instead, and take my rest on the seventh-day Sabbath.)

Fiction is literature created from the imagination, and is not presented as fact. It may be based on a true story or situation, though. The types of literature included in the fiction genre are the novel, the short story, and the novella.

Genres of fiction:
Classic
Mysteries
Science fiction
Romance
Fantasy
Chick lit
Crime thrillers
Historical

If you stop and think about it, Laura Ingalls Wilders book are fiction, based on truth, even a little autobiographical. The "Little House" books were my first chapter books. I think I began reading them when I was about ten or so, and I usually read through the whole set once a year, through my teens and even into my early twenties. Am I the only one?

I enjoy historical fiction the most, followed by clean romance, classic, and sometimes chick lit. I've also discovered I enjoy Christian suspense, romance, and rom com. I've recently reviewed some Christian suspense, if you want to go back through my blog.

What is your favorite fiction genre? What is your most recent read in that genre?

  1. I don't really have a favourite genre. I change with each book. Coincidentally I'm writing to crime novels at the moment, one of which is Christian. It's the first time I've read anything in the latter genre. The only genre I won't read is erotica and I don't read anything which explicitly promotes a non binary view on gender, or homosexuality. I know, I know...someone will cancel me now. Oh well.

  2. I am not a huge fiction reader, but I guess my favorite genre would be chick lit followed by romance. Most of what I read doesn't fall into any of your categories though. I mean, what category do authors like Lisa Genova, Jodi Picoult and Kara Brown belong to?
