April A to Z Blogging Challenge
I decided to try giving my blog a bit of a jumpstart by participating in this blogging challenge. I hope you'll come along with me! Since I already share about books here, I thought I'd use that as my theme for this challenge, so I'll share book recommendations, and other bookish themes.
A is for authors. If it weren't for so many wonderful authors in the world, we wouldn't have the books to enjoy. The past few months I have interacted with more and more authors via social media and email newsletters. (I'll let you in on a little secret: I am an author wannabe, aspiring author, whatever you want to call me.)
Some of my favorite authors are:
It would take too long to list my favorite authors. Since we are heading into beach reading season, I tell you one of my favorite "beach read" authors - Nancy Thayer. I'm discussing book genres for the challenge and I hope you will stop by.
ReplyDeleteI, too, would need a couple hours to list my favorites, but here are some: Barbara Kingsolver (just added after I read The Poisonwood Bible), Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (yes, I am a Sherlockian), Alexander McCall Smith (I love the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency stories), Thomas P. F. Hoving (his King of the Confessors is one of my all-time favorite books).
ReplyDeleteI read a lot - favorite author at the moment is Liana Brooks (romance + superhero or sci-fi); Michael G. Williams (vampire urban fantasy); right now I am working through Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series for the first time, and N.K. Jemisin keeps on amazing me with each science-fiction book she puts out. - Erin Penn (https://www.erinpenn.com/blog/)
ReplyDeleteIt would take forever to list my favourite authors :-) I am sharing book reviews this month, so maybe you'll find someone there to add to your list of favourites.
ReplyDeleteAs an aspiring author, I suggest you check out the Insecure Writer's Support Group and the Creative Penn Podcast -- my favourite resources as an author.
